Ergonomic design:

Thanks to its slim, ergonomically shaped construction, the backpack fits closely against your back and stays out of your way whether you are running on trails, cycling, or climbing steep terrain. Anatomically shaped shoulder straps distribute weight evenly and make carrying comfortable, while the removable hip belt adds stability and reduces strain on the shoulders.

Main compartment and smart storage solutions:

Access to the main compartment is from the top, where you will find a drop pocket and a small zippered pocket for your most important items. On the lid there is also a flat zippered pocket, ideal for storing items you want to keep separate from the rest of your gear.

Versatile attachment points:

The Patrol is also designed for carrying additional equipment. Attachment points for ice axes make it a reliable companion for winter trips. Strong compression straps on the sides keep the load securely in place or can be used to attach skis, poles, or even a trekking axe.

The Patrol is made from durable PU-coated 1000D Cordura and surplus PVC, enabling a modern look and excellent durability for everyday use. The surface protects your belongings from changing weather conditions and ensures you can rely on your backpack in all environments.

Handcrafted

Our products are made from durable 1000D Cordura® and surplus PVC, ensuring long-lasting use and excellent weather resistance. The straps and webbing are made from high-strength polyester for added reliability and comfort in daily use.

Our goal is to design gear that’s simple, functional, and includes only the essential features. Each item is carefully developed to meet your needs—whatever the purpose. We constantly strive to improve our designs to enhance your user experience.

We use surplus PVC—offcuts from larger fabric rolls—that would otherwise go to waste. This material not only gives our products a modern, weatherproof finish but also significantly reduces environmental impact.

Using surplus PVC allows us to eliminate up to 80% of potential PVC waste and lower both our carbon footprint and production costs, without compromising on performance or aesthetics.

All Välnorth Gear backpacks are handmade in Finland, mostly in our own workshop in Rauma. This ensures high quality at every step.

We blend traditional craftsmanship with modern materials to create durable, functional gear with a clean Nordic look.
